20 Small Mazes
A downloadable game for Windows
This is a puzzle game with twenty small mazes. If you solve the mazes, you beat the game.
- It's about 1-2 hours long, maybe.
- You need a keyboard and mouse to play it. One person played through the whole game on the Steam Deck, but I tried it and think it's better on PC.
- A few puzzles require knowledge of English. No puzzle requires sound or audio to solve it. No puzzle requires being able to recognize different colors.
I hope you enjoy it.
-------------------------------
Rock Paper Shotgun had some nice things to say about the game: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/20-small-mazes-is-an-extremely-good-game-made-of-er-20-small-mazes-and-its-free
20 Small Mazes was an honorable mention for "excellence in design" at this year's IGF awards.
--------------------------------
This almost has controller support now, but one puzzle still requires typing. It's an ongoing project.
The GLES2 version is for if the regular version of the game doesn't run for whatever reason. The main version is built with GLES3 which seems to have some problems with video drivers.

imposible but also fun
what does it mean i have to "make sure i trust before opening" how tf ami supposed to open the game :[
plz halp :[
I'm assuming this is on Windows? I'm not 100% sure, but I think there should be an option to "show more", and then you can click "open".
oh ty it works now
:]]]]
Great!
windows dont let me instal it
How are you trying to install it? When you download it, there should be an .exe file, which starts the game.
nvm it works
Great! Glad to hear it.
Its a very fun game but when i got 20/20 on all my saves i could not ply
I'm glad you like it!
For any save slot, you can rewrite it by selecting a new game in that slot. So to overwrite the "20/20" in slot 1, solve the maze under the main menu and start a new game in slot 1. This will overwrite the game in slot 1 to "0/20".
Opens a gray and white window, then becomes all white and borderless. Cursor appears as grey circle and sea sounds play, but no music. :(
Sorry about this. I have a few questions:
-Do you see any mazes on the screen?
-Are you using a multiple screen setup? (There are some weird issues with Godot and multiple screens, sometimes.)
-I'm assuming you're playing on Windows. If you go to "C:\Users\[INSERT YOUR USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Godot\app_userdata\20 Small Mazes\logs" is there a log there? If so, could you send me what it says?
No, no mazes and no multiple screen setup. The logs are 15 to 31 mb so I'm not sure how to send them.
I think my PC might just be too old for Godot games, which is unfortunate as there keeps coming more of them. I tried switching drivers which has worked on some games and instead of the above bug it outright told me the opengl versions weren't supported.
Curiously https://pancelor.itch.io/january-quiet has the same sound-only gray window when play the downloadable version, but the online version does show proper visuals, but its unplayably slow.
Anyways, nevermind, I think it would be a waste of time to dig into this. Thanks for the reply though!
Okay. Sorry it doesn't work. Hope all is well with you!
FWIW, I looked a bit more into it and it seems this "blank screen with audio" is a known Nvidia-related issue, which is usually solved by selecting "Let the 3D application decide" and/or turning off "Antialiasing - mode" in the Nvidia control panel. It apparently clashes with the Godot "viewport" or something. That said, this still didn't do anything for me, no matter how I fiddled with it.
I should also mention there is a Godot game which does work for me, "Megaman Rock'n Roll". It is built on Godot 2.1, whereas this is 3.5.3 (?), which might shed light on the problem. I've also seen mention of switching from GLES3 to GLES2 solving the problem.
edit: "The Legend of Lumina" also works, despite using also 3.5.3 (?)
Huh. I'm in the middle of doing updates, but I wouldn't mind making a GLES2 build, to see if that solves the issue.
I'll post an experimental build with GLES2 here next week.
I just complete it on linux without any glitch.
Just execute "wine 20SM.exe"
Thanks for the great game !
Oh cool! Glad it worked!

I keep trying to download this but it comes up as .crdownload :(
Doesn't a .crdownload mean it's an incomplete download? Did the download complete?
Every time I Let it not finish downloading it comes up as .crdownload so maybe you didn't finish downloading it all the way
I don’t know if this was suppose to happend lol
Oh whoops. Yeah, that's not supposed to happen.
If you go to the main menu and back into the save file, it should reset that puzzle.
that was fun.
this is nice
Love the game😊
A minor glitch being you can see the lens reflection when the chest window is on top of the lens window.

Beat this on Steam in about half an hour, super good fun!
Thank you!
It works perfectly on macOS under Whisky, by the way.
